This extension of our age range is thanks to a grant announced by the Secretary of State, Ed Balls, as part of the Government's Children's Plan. Applicants will need to fulfil the same criteria that covers families with 0-15 year olds, including not having been helped by the Fund in the 12 months prior to this application. We are delighted to have received the £8.4 million. This will enable us to help 17 year olds as well, but not until 2009/2010, at the earliest, as the money is to cover the three years 2008-2011 and is being introduced in a phased way.Funding has been granted over 3 years and by 2010/11 it will include young people up to the age of 18. However, initially sufficient funding has only been provided to help those aged 16."Kate EvansCoordinatorNational Parent Partnership Network (NPPN)Council for Disabled Children8 Wakley StreetLondon EC1V 7QEDirect Line: 020 7843 6058website: http://www.parentpartnership.org.uk/--------------------------------------------------------*****Merseyside Autistic Children's Society (MACS) Stay and Play Sessions at the Madhouse BebingtonFor all families affected by ASDPlease find further information in our Downloads section, Newsletters!*******Visit our online one-stop shop for professionals at www.parentlineplusforprofessionals.org.uk
